The world of health care has changed tremendously since O’Connor Hospital began serving the Delhi community in 1922. One thing that has remained the same is our commitment to providing high-quality inpatient care. Whether you’re recovering from a serious illness or recuperating from surgery, you can count on receiving first-class, round -the–clock care from a team of experienced professionals.

The Medical-Surgical Unit at O’Connor Hospital provides general care, including cardiac monitoring, convalescence, and health restoration to the patients of our community. The patient population served by the Medical-Surgical Unit consists of the pediatric (age 6 or older) and young adult through the geriatric population. The unit is staffed by a mixture of experienced RN’s, LPN’s and certified nurses aides who are committed to providing our patients with excellent personalized patient care.

The Medical/Surgical patient rooms have recently been renovated and upgraded with new colorful interior and new furniture, which includes beds (equipped with safety alarms and weight scales), over the bed tables, bedside tables, and televisions.

A full range of services is available to our patients and families, some of which consist of:

Cardiac Monitoring-Our patients can be monitored with our new telemetry system for heart arrhythmias.

Respiratory Therapy-Our respiratory therapist evaluates and treats patients with breathing or other cardiopulmonary disorders.

Nutrition counseling-Our registered dietician offers nutrition counseling to patients regarding dietary changes and needs.

Pharmacy-The pharmacist is available to provide one-on-one patient education on all current medications.

Clinic and Provider Appointments-Our patients can be scheduled for referrals or testing during their inpatient visit or for follow up care as an outpatient.
